Hey, i recently took a 160 GB laptop HDD and attached it to my pc, using it to store media, but now i need to install windows on it. The problem is that when i boot windows installation, the HDD is not found. The drive's file system is NTFS and the HDD's name is Hitachi HTS545016B9A300. Do you guys know what could be the problem?

Attached via SATA cable. Yes, it is a 5400RPM drive. I need to mention that before trying to install windows on the drive, i formatted it in my computer [ i didn't use format inside a windows setup, but i selected properties>format ], and i'm afraid that the preinstalled drivers on the hard drive were wiped as well.

Yes, the BIOS does display the laptop drive, and i have another drive, but during the windows installation, i removed the other drive. Connected devices were only the 160gb laptop HDD and the DVD-ROM. Also, right now i'm on windows and the drive works well, driver is installed too. But on windows installation, it won't show up.
