Hello all

I have been having alsorts of problems with my build, red lights on all components installed.

I took everthing out of the case and breadboarded/benched everything. Still no luck.

Then I found this thread by accident suggesting that this cooler (212) is supposed to come with insulation tape stuck to the back of the back plate which is fastened to the rear of the motherboard (for LG 1150 boards) to allow the X bracket to be fastened to the front of the board.

My cooler did not come with anything whatever on the back plate. Can anyone tell me if this would be an issue? I am guessing it could have fried my board ; and potentially the RAM and my R9 290X? Hope somebody can help

Many thanks indeed for your advice, in advance!

I have (3) of these coolers and none of them had any tape on the backplates.

Does it look like it is shorting anything out on the back side?

I made a big boobie...there is tape on the legs of the bracket, sorry for the scaremongering and incompetence :)

It is almost impossible to recogise though as it is seethrough and the same colour as the bracket so unless you really look very close it is not obvious. :/
