Dell XPS 8500 max CPU?

Hi All,

Running an XPS 8500 with i7-3770 processor. Does anyone know what is the fastest processor supported by this machine? I haven't been able to find this info anywhere. Thanks!

I7 3770 is the fastest 1155 socket chip you can get. Any faster intels are either 1150 or 2011 socket.

You already have one of the best processors, and considering the fact that your motherboard only supports 3rd Generation and 2nd Generation Intel processors, you cannot get better. May I ask, what are the reasons you want to upgrade?

Thanks for the response guys. Looking to upgrade from Win7 to Win8 and was just looking for a bit more horsepower if possible. Thanks again!

Why would you want to downgrade to windows 8? :lol: You want more performance, from a program loading standpoint, get a nice SSD instead.
