So my mobo has 3 pcie 3.0 slots, it says it supports x16, x8x8 and x8/x4/x4 modes, im looking into buying a graphics card that requires a x16 slot, i already have a soundcard in one of the slots does this mean that if i have the graphics card and the soubdcard plugged in they will both run in x8? or does it just mean the card requires a x16 slot to physically fit and that the card will run x16 and the soundcard will run at 8?

thanks for any response's

Solution
Your motherboard does have three PCI-Ex16 slots, but it also has four PCI-Ex1 slots. If the sound card only requires a PCI-Ex1 slot, then why would you want to install it into a PCI-Ex16 slot? Install the sound card into either the top or bottom PCI-Ex1 slot and call it a day. It will have no effect on your graphic card's performance.
