I noticed in

Chrome://plugins

I had a plugin named widevine content decryption module. I reinstalled chrome, and its not there.

Also, in chrome://components there are 5 components
One being Widevinecdm. The others were pepper flash, pnacl, crlset and recovery.

Appdata/local/google/chrome/user data/WidevineCDM In
Program files (x86)/google/chrome/application/37.0.2062.103 There is a widevinecdmadapter.dll
It was created along other files when it installed, so it was created during the chrome install.

The plugin is not present while looking at chrome now, and there are no files in widevinecdm appdata folder but im sure it will appear again eventually. I noticed when I went back to the chrome://components it said widevinecdm was downloading/updating, and it downloaded version 1.4.5.671. Tye .dlls are signed by google. My questions:

Is this a legit and default plugin of chrome?

How come it takes a while (maybe a day at the most) to appear?

If you use chrome, do you have 1. Widevine In chrome://plugins 2. Widevine in chrome://components and 3. Widevine files in the appdata and program Google folders?

Thanks.
