Running my i5 5670k @ 4.1ghz with 1.2v.

Prime 95 is giving me these temperatures after about 1 minute of test.
With occt the maximum temp i was getting is about 85-88

Cpu cache ratio is 41 like the cpu multiplier and everything is set to auto except for the vcore (1.2v)

Cpu cooler is CM V6GT and case is CM StormStyker. Motherboard is asrock z87 ext6

Here's a shot !

Be a little wary of Prime95, it can overvolt your CPU and ramp up the temps. Do the OCCT large and small versions for about 5-10 mins, should give you an accurate reading, and more importantly play games! The highest steady temp I would be comfortable with would be about 79c though.

Remember, even the most demanding, multi-threaded games (Like Battlefield 4) use no more than 60% of your CPU. The temp under 100% load through a synthetic benchmark will help give you an idea under maximum load, but in gaming, if you have a decent CPU cooler you should be fine.

Having said all that, consider upgrading your cooler as well, as that series of CPU runs pretty warm. The Noctua NH-C14 is terrific, but the Xigmatek Dark Knight SD1283 has comparable performance and is a better value. That should cool things down if you're worried.

I was being worried maybe the cpu cooler is not seated well. But im pretty sure its seated well. Its fans are working also and i can feel the warm air going out of the back from the rear fan when i stress test. The cooler is a v6gt. What about the corsair h100 ?

the v6 gt is a great cooler just as good as the h100 (maybe a lil less) and should always keep you under 50 @ full load even when oc'd. Set the voltage manually first thing first.

Did you use to much thermal paste? Sometimes it work as an insulator if overly applied.

Try seating the cooler again and use less paste. do you have any case fans? Where do you live? Is it really hot in your home?

are you 100% sure the fan is mounted correctly? my cm 212+ came with the fan connected to the bracket backwards.

If i remember correctly the temps were 29-30s in idle and 60s or 70s at full load with 1.280v in the winter.
Now its summer. As for case fans i got 2 bottom intake , 2 side intake , 1 rear exhaust and 1 top 200mm exhaust.

The vcore is manually set to 1.2v. What about other cpu settings? All others are set to auto.

Maybe look at some oc guides for your motherboard it could help with settings.

I must insist you reseat and reapply paste in a more conservative manner.

The h100 is a liquid cooling solution, you have a heatsink/fan solution and an improvement along that line is what I suggested. Only if you feel comfortable trying a liquid cooling solution would I recommend that route. If you do, the Cooler Master Glacer 240L is the way to go, IMO. Better than almost any other H2O solution, is relatively quiet and has higher quality components than most others. Even gives you the option to cool your GPU down the road if you want to.
