Hello again, tomshardware.com.

I am in a bit of most likely common problem, but I can't seem to get around the issue at all, so I am posting it here for assistance. I am running a HP Pavilion dv6-7000 laptop that is using a two gig AMD Radeon graphics card. Now, the issue is, I have been playing some games and the framerate goes insane with random slow downs and jump ups during gameplay, causing a number of issues. One of the biggest offenders is the Sims 3, which I have been trying to get Vsync working, but it only accepts the mode when its directly through the graphics card itself.

Now here is the issue, among looking at my Device Manager, I have strange two display adapters. A 'AMD Radeon HD 7660G + 7730M Dual Graphics' and oddly enough a 'AMD Radeon HD 7730M' by itself. Now I don't know if my laptop is confusing the two adapters or something, but when I tried to access my graphics card info from the AMD Catalyst Control Center, it doesn't give any info, just CPU Power which only allows me to manage the power output from the quad-core processors when on battery or plug, wifi-radio for wifi, and power profiles, just like when you select the laptop's power icon and manage through there.

I am really stumped on what the issue is, and as long as it continues, I can't really play any games without the framerate jumping out of control as it is.

I've been trying to play the Sims, windowed mode at 1280x768, however the FPS jump insanely every few minutes, freezing then sudden speed up. I wouldn't mind playing it at 40FPS, since I play all the Wargame Games at max speeds, but with the framerate set to 40 and that is no trouble.

I know for a fact that Wargame: Red Dragon is a GPU heavy game, with all the units, fighting and such going on. So why is the Sims 3 a pain to set, and no there is no setting for Vsync in the Sims 3, it has to set from the graphic card.

That's another question, why is the graphics card not showing up in the AMD Control Center?

That is the sad part, I am in advanced view and it only gives me four options.

Pinned: Which is not even used at all...

Presets: Which allows me to create presets for... I actually do not know, I am currently working with that to see how it responds.

EDIT: I tried a Sims3 Preset and all it did was load the game without the launcher....which is nice, but there is no way to edit these settings.

Performance: Which allows me to play with the CPU power usage for battery and plug-in.

Power: Covers Wi-Fi Radio, Battery Settings, and oddly again CPU power.

EDIT: I also noticed that the Control Center is only letting me edit the processor settings, nothing else.

Yeah, both drivers are completely install and working it seems hand-in-hand. I edited my earlier post, stating that shutting one off nearly crashed the laptop it seems.

I am actually doing that right now. According to some sources, its a conflict of drivers or the software (the control center) is outdated as well.

I am currently removing and reinstalling everything.
