Hide Computer on LAN from NON-Admin Computers

Hi,

I'm the one paying for internet access, I've also paid for the router, and I'm the sole admin of my local LAN here at home.

What I want to ask is, is there a way to completely hide my computer, as well as another computer (that is mine) from the rest of the network? I'm not speaking about turning off network discovery only, I mean hide them in such a way that it appears as my 2 computers are completely hidden from any of the NON-ADMIN users who don't have access to the router? To make myself clear, I want it to appear as if these two computers simply don't exist on the network.

Would anyone tell me how to do this? Is it even possible at all? (the two computers I want to hide are running windows 7)

Thanks very much!

If it's for non-admin only, but you still want to be seen for admin users, then I don't know how to do that, but I can tell you how to hide those two computers so they don't show on "my network places"

To begin left click the windows icon in the botton-left and type "services.msc" in to the search box.
Left click on "Services" to open up your services settings.
Locate the "Function Discovery Resource Publication" service and right that and select "properties" and then set the startup type to disabled.
Restart the computer and verify that the PC is no longer shown if you can.

Hopefully that's what you want there. If you have any issues as a result of that change then you can just undo that setting by changing the startup type to...

Yep. That is exactly what I wanted. It didn't matter to me if the admin computers could see each other or share resources. I just wanted the other computers (non-admin) to think they were not even connected to the network. :) Thanks a bunch!
