i was hopping some one could help me whats is happening in games i do not think its tearing or stutter build 3 weeks old no problems up until now i bought all components from scan and gone thorough various trouble shooting methods.

whats is happening is ill be playing games such as BF4 WOW SMITE and what is happening is this screen will freeze for like half a second - 2 seconds and then carry on as normal it is most apparent on bf4. its is kind of like when you pause an old vhs.

ive been trouble shooting on toms and have rung scan up and run bench marks mu cpu gpu have expected scores and all temperatures are within normal limits.

can some help me understand what it is im experiencing my specs are as follows not overclock done yet

Msi z97 g45 gaming MB
i7 4970k
zotac gtx 780 oc
250gb samsung evo ssd
8gb vengence ram
630w psu.
144hz asus monitor

note after trouble shooting on toms and through scan pc as of the moment as today reformated clean installs of all drivers ect. and tested through tv ect it occurs on both monitor and tv.

any help greatly appreciated

The only possible hardware issue I can see is that your PSU is borderline as far as supplying sufficient Wattage to your rig. A GTX 780 Ti wants 620w minimum, and since you're running a GTX 780 OC (Overclocked) you'll be looking at similar power-consumption figures.

I understand this is a new build so you may not want to consider different parts but, if at all possible, try a higher-powered PSU in your current rig if you can find one to borrow.

i have done extensive tests the results are crazy first off just take BF 4 for example there is none of what im experience on the test range absolutely fine.

day 1 i decided to switch the pci slot for the gpu to the secondary one and plug results fantastic 3 hours gamely nothing.

day 2 still in the same slot power up bf4 multi player the same is occurring but not as bad so i decide to run of integrated quality was terrible but none of which explained above.

day 3 tried multy play with just cpu alone the same started to occur so i put my gpu back in the primary it was fine.

day 4 all methods completely unplayable on multi player which ever the game

i can fully understand why this may be a power problem but why is it completely fine single player to when i go multi player. if some one can explain this or suggest any further trouble shooting options i am only abe to get a more powerful psu 1-2 weeks and should i just stop using pc completely till i have got this sorted.

thanks community

Its not the power I have the exact same build as you apart from my cpu is a 4670k im running the be quiet 630watt psu. A 780 build with an i7 only uses around 450watts people like the dude above talk nonsense. I would contact scan but it could be a driver issue I'm getting series stuttering with bf4 but other games are fine.

Try doing a proper clean install of gpu driver downloaded driver sweeper first http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4266-driver-sweeper.h... and cc cleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

uninstall drivers via control panel restart when asked once you've done all of that go into you're program files and delete any nvidia folders in there go to reycle bin delete them out there ect. Once you have done that run driver sweeper only choose nvidia display and physx click analyse then click clean. restart the computer when asked. Now run ccleaner then click the registry section which is below the brush symbol, click scan for issues, fix selected issues and click no when it asks if you want to back up anything. now when you install the nvidia driver click custom install now only check hd audio and physx boxes and check the perform clean install box at the bottom this is a must. Try that and see if that helps.

Also in your 3d settings in nvidia control panel turn driver vsync on and set pre rendered frames to 1 this will give you the smoothest gameplay possible. just make sure you turn off in game vsync. I hope this helps. I have been running my 780/4670k rig for nearly a year now and not one issue.

I've been running this 780/4670k system for nearly a year now and I game a lot on it and it hasn't caused any issues!. I would rather stick to expert reviewers on power consumption.
