My power supply for my computer makes this weird noise for about 5 minutes when I first start up League Of Legends.

A few days ago my old power supply crapped out on me after a lightning storm so i bought a cheap one since I didn't have much money on me at the time.

The weird thing is, is when I stress test my computer with prime95 it doesn't make the noise. I made sure the noise is coming from my psu and not my gpu.

i5-3570k@3.4ghz
gforce gtx 660ti

PSU Thermaltake tr2 600w

Prime 95 doesn't use the GPu which will use more power than the CPU. Starting game games will use the gpu and cpu so it's drawing alot more power. What you are probably hearing is coil whine. Chokes have also been known to emit a high pitched whine when the start to fail.

@bignastyid Like I said I know the psu I have isn't the greatest, but I was wondering what causes the noise..
It's only 2 days old and has been doing it since my first start up.
It confuses me why it doesn't make the noise when I use prime95.
