High quality screen recording software?

I need something to record my screen with and the videos don't take too much space. I've been using fraps for years now but those videos are ridiculously large. So i need something that records at least in 720p but that the size isn't that big.

The higher the quality, the larger the file will be. I personally think Dxtory is better than Fraps, mainly because it uses much less resources, giving you less of an FPS decrease in games. Bandicam is good too. Which codec you record with will have a huge impact on file size and video quality.
