Hey i was thinking of getting these

If your case can fit the larger Motherboard it would be a good upgrade. Though just for gaming the i5 performs almost as well. Also what GPU will this be paired with?

Yeah either the i5 or the i7 should do just fine. The i7 might be a bit more future proof as game start to use more threads(because of the consoles getting 8-core processors).

I would say so, but that is personal preference. It would be an slower and older 2c/4t to a faster and newer 4c/4t or 4c/8t so it depends on how important that upgrade is to you.

A i7 for gaming is a real overkill, also most stock i5 should be more than enough.

I would probably go with at least an H97 motherboard, but the MicroATX is a good idea because they are usually cheaper.
