Hi friends...i recently had an Antec TPQ-1000watt PSU fry on me during a gaming session(it sizzled, sparks, 'POP'!!!) then the system shut down...obviously lol. so...i got a new EVGA 1000watt Gold PSU...hooked it all up...system turns on,all fans, even GPU fans run, lights etc, but i get no video signal at all, not even a monitor 'flash' or anything...i dont even get a POST 'beep'. could it be i fried everything when he PSU blew? it went out with a "bang!' , never seen that happen before. visually everything 'looks' good, but nothing works...i even took the psu apart and dont see any blown capacitors.I did install a Corsair H80i liquid cpu cooler about 2 weeks prior to this...could this have caused the psu to blow? the pump and fan power on the cooling unit run off SATA power connector...so i used a free end (the other plugged into the hardrive). any suggestions to this nightmare would be much appreciated!! thanks!!

Solution
go to bare bones config:

1 ram stick, vid card, cpu and motherboard psu connectors only, no other cables attached, no usb headers, hdd cables or anything. see if it gets a display.

Also try the vid card from your old pc. If you have 2 ram sticks swap one for the other. By now if still no go your looking at motherboard or cpu replacement. When a psu goes it can take out anything that is connected to it.

It's probably the motherboard. Have a really good look at the places where the big ATX cable plug in and where the 4 pin cable plug into the motherboard for any problems. You could also take out the motherboard and look at the back of it but there could be damage you cannot see.

Can you test your gpu and hdd in your old spare PC too? If they work ok you're down to cpu, mobo and ram and I think the mobo would be the most likely culprit

if i get no post 'beep' this is most likely the mobo? since the case speaker was never hooked up...the mobo is a GIGABYTE GA-890XA-UD3...i dont remember ever seeing and led's on the mobo..no there is none for sure lol. the ram and gpu dont fit in the slots on my old heap:(

You won't get beeps without a case speaker.
Most Mobos don't come with case speakers, you can buy them really cheap though and plug it into the speaker pins on the mobo though.
