Hi guys. Need a new computer. I do not know anything about building them. My computer is dead and I need a new one.

My use will be web development, mobile development, game development, (3d and coding), gaming, videos.

1500 dollar Canadian budget for the box, 500 on the monitor. Going to get the Samsung 4k 28".

Looking forward to your ideas.

Can change the Case for a Corsair 540 Mini ATX that I like? Can I remove the CD ROM? What about changing the HDD to an SSD is that ok? Will that GPU be ok on 4k monitor for work only? Not 4k gaming. Gaming be done in 1080.

The GPU will be fine on 4k monitor for work. You can remove the optical drive. And A Micro ATX case will not work with this ATX board.

MicroATX boards are usually cheaper anyway though

So basically if I want to use the Corsair 540 I just need to change the Motherboard and all the other components can work? Can I put this together myself or should I have someone do it for me?

You can do that yourself if you have both hands functioning.
Remember for CAD, 4cores or higher is better. So I would strongly recommend the i7`s.

I won't be using a lot of CAD software, mostly Maya, Mudbox for 3d work. Blender, etc.

Rendering eats a lot of CPU man and a lot of RAM.

Ok, I will make some modifications to my build and re post it for you to see. Thanks.

CPU requirements also depend on your rendering engine. Consider the fact that a lot of the popular engines now use GPU acceleration (Vray RT, Mental Ray iRay etc...) By the sound of the original post I'd invest more in a graphics card with a higher clock speed (MHz) and more cores (Cuda in the case of Nvidia), rather than drop more for the latest i7.

Especially pushing 4k, a better graphics card is a must in my opinion (check the resolution to be sure 4K is supported).

Does 1 PCI express slot mean I can only load 1 GPU?
