I have a second hand Alienware Aurora with decent specs but a Gtx 480 which I am keen to upgrade. Was thinking a GTX 780 but was wondering whether my 875 Watt power supply will be able to handle it. Thanks in advance.

875 watts from a quality PSU is plenty. What is the exact model of the PSU though?

A GeForce GTX 780 needs 42 amps on the 12v+ rail and a 600 watt power supply minimum with 1- 6 PIN AND 1 - 8 PIN PCIE power connection.

The Dell W299G 875w watt power supply has 65 Amps on the 12v + rail and the proper PCIE power connections to run a single GTX 780.

It is more than sufficient to run the card.
