What are Black Friday Sales Like In The PC World?

Solution
Overall I would say not worth it. I have gotten and seen better deals many other times of the year. There are still a few instances that you can get okay deals. But for the most part I see the parts MSRP is jacked up and discounted amount is higher than the usual sales amount which makes it seem as though you are getting a better deal, when actually you are not. This past Black Friday I saw some Intel CPUs that have MSRP from Intel and are usually marked correctly through most of the year at around $200, but then on Black Friday they were marked as $275 MSRP and being sold for $220. Leaving someone that does not know any better the assumption that they are saving a lot more than usual.

Nothing special. BF "deals" related to computers will be laptops and tablets. The major retailers do not bother with PC components. Further, over the years BF "deals" have declined in excitement and more often than not if you wait a month or two after Thanksgiving, you'll even find a better deal anyway. Bottom line: don't expect anything in the way of a killer deal on a video card, CPU, memory, or power supply. At best you may find a hard drive or internal Blu-Ray/BD-R deal.

Always just do your homework and know what the best prices are through the year on whatever you have your heart set on so you do not get ripped off.

Someone on PCPartsPicker charted prices over one year to see if Black Friday \ Cyber Monday prices were actually a better deal. The data is for the year 2012 but it does show a yearly trend. Results show that it isn't always the best time to buy as many other things affect the market. Ex, in 2012 flooding in Thailand took out several Hard Drive manafacturer's plant's in October, making November and December significantly higher in price than other times of the year. That data is here
