Hey guys,
So I just put in a new gpu and added some ram. When I first started my comp i was having issues with mouse and kb not getting power or being unresponsive. That seemed to go away after many restarts. Now my whole system just freezes about a min or two in, even in safe mode. It doesn't seem to be a heat issue as far as I can tell. I'm using the drivers that came on the card. My old cards drivers are still on the pc but I don't really have enough time to uninstall them or do much else before it freezes again. What should I do? How can I trouble shoot this?

My specs:
Mobo: p35 ds3l
cpu: Intel e6750
Gpu: Asus r7 260x
Psu: corsair hx520
Ram: 2 gigs of geil and 2 of g.skill

A min or two should be enough time to uninstall old drivers. That may be causing conflicts. Also your bios needs to be up to date to utilize some drivers. I'd start with the bios update first. Definitely go into safe mode and uninstall drivers. If it's that hard then you may have to remove the hard drive and put it into a system that is more stable and do the same thing. Either way make sure bios is up to date and get the drivers cleaned out and up to date.

I would also recommend clearing your CMOS to clear out all of the previous settings. You can do this by powering down, switch off and unplug your PSU, then remove the coin battery mounted on the mobo. Keep it out for a couple of minutes then replace it. If the battery is old, you should go ahead and replace it.

Do you have four 1GB DRAM sticks, or two 2gb sticks? Which sticks do you have installed in which slots?

I have 4 one gig sticks and they seem to be running at 533 instead of the rated 800 for some reason.

I put my old gpu back in and it's still freezing, so it might be the ram but really I have no idea at this point.

Are they all the same speed and timings? If you can, post the actual model numbers for each pair.

Ok, I reset my cmos and put the new card in and took the g.skills out. I was able to uninstall my old drivers and am installing new bios now. No freezes so far. It seems like the new ram is the issue. I'm not really sure what to do next tho...

Update:
So I just realized the g.skill I ordered are actually ddr2 533. I feel so stupid right now...
Anyway, thank you all for the help.
