Salutations,

My pc is connected to a Netgear WNDR3700v4 via a ZyXEL PLA5215 powerline adapter. My printer is an Okidata MB471w connected via wifi to an Actiontec GT704-WG-B wifi router/modem. I did this because the printer would not connect to the Netgear router even when they were sitting side by side. I was planning on disassembling the printer with a shotgun in an isolated clearing out of spite for its insolence before my wife stopped me. It is an otherwise excellent printer, but switching to and fro wired and wifi when I want to print is annoying as hell.

Since the router and modem are connected, is there a way to rout the print request to the Netgear over to the Actiontec and eliminate connecting to wifi?

Solution
You are going to be better off connecting the printer via a wired connection. Many of these printers WiFi is flaky at best. It also makes it easier for when you swap out the router.
