I have had my Samsung SSD 840 EVO for a while now and never had any problems. Recently however when I install something my computer has crashed and the bluescreen of death has appeared. The error message has been samsungrapiddiskfltr or something along those lines. Subsequently when I disable rapid mode and try installing a program I have no issues at all and then I can re-enable rapid mode afterwards and the system runs perfectly. The issue only seems to be when installing.

I called samsung and they said I might need to install intel rapid storage technology but on the intel website all the drivers mention Raid setups and I am not using any sort of Raid setup. It is also for intel hub controllers they seem to say and my controller is Texas Instruments although I use an Intel i7 processor.

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

The AHCI driver is bundled together with the RAID driver. when you click on the link for 13.2, it will give you 3 download links. Download the one that says setuprst.exe. When you install it, it will detect which driver is needed and put the correct driver.
