I have had my Samsung SSD 840 EVO for a while now and never had any problems. Recently however when I install something my computer has crashed and the bluescreen of death has appeared. The error message has been samsungrapiddiskfltr or something along those lines. Subsequently when I disable rapid mode and try installing a program I have no issues at all and then I can re-enable rapid mode afterwards and the system runs perfectly. The issue only seems to be when installing.
I called samsung and they said I might need to install intel rapid storage technology but on the intel website all the drivers mention Raid setups and I am not using any sort of Raid setup. It is also for intel hub controllers they seem to say and my controller is Texas Instruments although I use an Intel i7 processor.
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
