i want to use r9 280x with hdmi or with dvi and i want to use a single monitor with hdmi or dvi should these be same?
2.would i be able to use a monitor and this grahic card with hdmi? or both with dvi?

Solution
HDMI= A/V (Audio/Video), DVI=Only Video.

If your monitor has inbluit speakers, use HDMI, or else, use DVI.

No video quality difference b/w the 2.

It has a Single DVI and a Dual DVI, so you can use 2 monitors with DVI or 1 with HDMI and other with DVI.

Usually with both options present, the HDMI will be filed in 1st.
DVI later for GPU's without HDMI support.
But still the quality would usually be identical. Yup no difference in image quality.
It's just the DVI on your R9 GPU carry an extra analog signal for monitors with VGA only support.

so will i would be able to use both with hdmi on a single monitor

If you mean both Audio and Video, then Yes, with HDMI. MiniPort can also carry Audio, but is not available on most older Monitors, so HDMI will be the best option :)

Just to clear the air:

When you have dedicated GPU (in this case 280X), you'll connect the monitor through the ports on the GPU not the MoBo.

Your monitor has speaker jack so you'll need HDMI or mDisplayPort to carry audio (DVI DOES NOT carry audio).

HDMI is very common so I'd recommend you try that as almost all monitors have that.

If you will want to have audio from the monitor then you will need either a HDMI or Display Port. But yours doesn't have a Display Port. So the HDMI is similar as a DVI and great for gaming. But the HDMI allows sound to be transmitted unlike DVI which only outputs the video but no audio.

that means I have to connect only a single cable from my monitor to gpu and not to the mobo so my monitor has headphone jack so sound will pass or not after connecting speakers

Yes sound will pass through HDMI and reach your monitor which'll transmit it to the audio device, ie, your Headphones/ speakers.
