Thanks. I have found a Enermax Triathlor for a decent price with 550W. Will that be sufficient?

Thanks

Do you know anything about motherboards? You've posted rubish on two threads now. If he uses that motherboard not only will he be unable to overclock the FX but after about a year theres a high chance the motherboard will fail.

M5A78L-M LE/LX/LX3 Power phase:3+1 Heatsinked:No TDP support: 95W Not for overclocking

If i go for a 990 motherboard will I then require a CPU cooler?

Altogether so if you overclock the stock cooler wouldn't do well. So an aftermarket cooler is recommended. A cheap and reliable one is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.

The motherboard you listed will do but it is not designed for overclocking. So a 990 or 990FX chipset is recommended.

If you are not going to overclock the FX-6300 then just stay with motherboard you listed and don't get an aftermarket CPU cooler.

Apologies to everyone.

Regardless of the motherboard you'll need a cpu cooler like the Cooler master hyper 212 for the CPU.
990FX is overkill for the 6300 and won't add any benefit other than a few features you're unlikely to use.

Even thos the FX6300 has 6 cores, its only strong point is overclocking. If you don't plan on doing that or don't know how i'd suggest going with the i3. A haswell i3 has better performance than the stock 6300 but you'll save money on the motherboard.

Sry i was a bit harsh. I've seen too many people use low-end boards for 6 or 8 cores only to come to the forum and ask why their PC isn't working anymore.

Your right, I have no idea how to overclock haha.

So you would recommend a i3 processor and what motherboard? All this is really confusing haha. Would be good if you could just recommend a setup and then I have a starting point to go from.

Thanks

The components i didn't add like case and hdd are the same from your other build.
No cooler needed for the i3 - stock cooler is more than enough
