why not just check the boards memory support list ?? [that's the memory I'm using now in this z87]

Thanks junkey by looking at the website it says, "Support for DDR3 1600/1333 MHz memory modules" however when I looked at Newegg for the ram it says, "Compatible with Intel LGA1155/LGA1156 and AMD AM3/Llano/AM3+ platforms" and I have a H97 Motherboard, does that mean its not supported on my board? The RAM is DDR3 1600

it may work just fine .. as you know with any of this computer stuff theres always that slight risk of getting a lemon with any part ..
funny thing you brought up the amd stuff cause this memory was first bought for a am3+ build and did not work to well in it. why I don't know but I got this intel build and tried it with it and its all good 100% stable for the z87 -- go figure

GSET16E4 G.SKILL 8GB F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL-- this is from that boards list so it was tested with your gigabyte board as good

ok good luck that gskill memory works well in this z87 so I hope yours will to. just installed it set the xpm setting and fired up and ran nice smooth and stable that's all I could ask for
