system makes a tick noise every 5 seconds when trying to start up,not even the bio image shows on the monitor..

i have tried disconnecting the hardrive =no changes
i disconnected hardrive and dvd rom=no changes

could it be my power supply?its a 20 pin connector but the motherboard is a 24pin

this happened when changing to a better new computer case

You CANNOT use a 20pin PSU on a 24pin board. Keep in mind that you probably killed the board. Get a proper PSU for the board and then try again. If it does not work then you killed it trying to use the wrong PSU.

I also recommend reading up on building PC's before you continue any further with building or upgrading. Before you add or buy anything research if extensively. This saves you heart ache and keeps you from making noob mistakes.
