Im currently using a i5 2400 and a Gigabyte H-77M
I want to upgrade my CPU but keeping my old mobo

I want to upgrade to i7 3770
will this work well? does the upgrade worth or not?
Or upgrade to LGA 1150 with new motherboard?
Does the perfomance will increase?


And Im using it for gaming

It is compatible. But update the BIOS of the motherboard just incase.
The performance increase depends on what programs you use.
If rendering and video editing, you gain a performance boost, for gaming not a lot.
