Hi guys,

I tend to always have problems with the ROG boards...
This time, it's a build from scratch - hitting the power button, comes up with the Q codes 13, 15 and then FE... (Fe isn't found in the user guide unfortunately)
Monitor is just black - goes to sleep mode.

Tried resetting the CMOS - no joy.
Have tried reseating the RAM, CPU and GPU but to no avail.
I've checked all connections and nothing loose.

All LEDs and fans are working as well

Any ideas before I send it back to dabs?

Thanks

CPU: i7 4790
MOBO: ASUS Maximus VII Formula Z97
RAM: 16GB G Skill
GPU: Asus Direct CUii GTX 680
PSU: Corsair AX860
OS: - None (can't install)

I'm having the same problem
Asus z97-pro
CPU: i7 4790 k
16gb ram ballistix (two sticks)
gigabyte gtx 970
PSU: evga 750 g2

I've tried everything, unplugging all unnecessary devices, leaving only the RAM, CPU,heat sink and motherboard. no solution.
keep getting the FE error. and like you said it isn't even listed in the manual.

Hello,

I am getting exactly the same problem, turn on the pc, it comes up with 13, 15 and then to FE :(
I Got a new gaming pc for Christmas and decided to build it as it seems like a pretty cool thing but then issues happened and I just want to play with my friends. Here are my specs;

Asus Maximus VII Hero
i5 4570k
GTX 760 MSI
1tb WD caviar blue HDD
2x4 Vengeance RAM
500W PSU

I've had a look around and there was this one guy saying about a beep and to build it piece by piece.

Firstly, I turned on the PC with only the CPU, FANS, and PSU but it still came up with the issue. So I decided to take CPU power cable of the board and see what happened. FAN No.1 went off because it had no power but the Q-Code just said 00.

Then I put it in again and the codes came up again.

In conclusion I think that the problem either means that it is my CPU (Not because it was put in the wrong way) Or there are problems with my CPU power cable running off the PSU.

Can someone please help us simple men and allow us to play our custom built PC's....

!!!PLEASE!!!

Hi. Did you ever find a solution? I've had this build working perfectly until last night I got home from work only to find the dreaded FE q code. I did everything mentioned here and no dice.

You might want to check the power supply. I had the same problem and it turns out my power supply was pretty much dead (also the RAM wasn't pushed all the way in, might want to check that too)
