Possible Bios update needed

I have an asus maximus vii hero and a intel 4690k I think my motherboard is of bios update lower than supporting this - is it possible to update the bios without a cpu or how do i go about finding my bios number as I currently cant boot to it?

Did your Q-code display work? mine has never shown anything. I bios flashed and it is still not working is this a dead motherboard? The bios update worked but still no fans or anything?
