Pc power issues

Heya all,

Been building a new rig and run into a power problem. The power keeps tripping the fuse box. Even if the plug is plugged in, switched on at the wall with the pc not turned on.

Any thoughts?

Is it tripping the fuse or an RCD (earth [ground]leakage device).

Defective power supply would be first guess. To be tripping the breaker it would most likely be a problem on the input side of the power supply.

Second thought would be foreign object got into the power supply.

What are the specs of your PC? What is the model of your PSU?

How much is plugged into the one circuit/breaker? Maybe you are overloading the plugin?

Hi,
The pcu is a Corsair cx600m.
There's a fair amount running from the room, moved it to another. Same issue. Pretty sure it's the power unit.!

Is it possible that both rooms are on the same breaker? My room and the outdoor receptacles are on the same breaker, so I had to run an extension cord from a different plug from another room altogether. In the winter when the Christmas lights were on my computer used to trip the breaker from time to time.

well, was moving the pc to check it on an extension cord and noticed the plug and pcu connectors, which I should have looked at first really:

I'm guessing that's a dead power unit, which is really annoying considering it was brand new in today.
