Powering Crossfire with a Sata to PCI converter

So I recently got a 270x, and the plan is to crossfire with the HD 7870 that I already have. I'm using a Thermaltake 650W Bronze Power supply, which had two PCIx6 connectors to power my 7870. However, I don't have another two to power the 270x. I do have one spare Molex and three Spare Sata power connectors coming off my PSU though.

Would it be safe to convert two of Satas to two PCIx6? It seems there's converters that take one Sata to one PCI, and some that take two Satas for the one PCI. Could I just buy two 1 to 1s and be off? Or should I look into getting a new PSU?

Thanks!

(I'm also running to CD drives, an FX-6350 and a WD Blue HD, just fyi)

650W isn't enough to run a crossfire setup with a pair of cards. You should get a power supply with at least 4 6-pin connectors. These will be in the 750-850W range.
