Hi community,

So the thing is this, i am currently finishing up my new build and i wanted to go with a
Scythe Mugen 4 (+second fan) as my CPU cooler cause of its effectiveness compared to its price.
But while browsing my favourite shop i came across the Cooler Master V8 GTS.
What ofcourse got me were it's looks.
I currently have a Cooler Master Storm Enforcer case with red leds, so it would fit perfectly since i have the windowed case version.

But i have a few questions and since Tom's Hardware community helped me out alot already i figured to ask them here.

1) Is the CM V8 GTS a much better cooler than the Mugen 4? since it's almost double the price (counting Mugen 4's extra fan you have to buy seperately in)

2) I saw the V8 GTS in a few youtube vids and man it is HUGE, will it fit in my case? since all the cases i saw in those vids were maxi-towers.

3) This might be a biased question, and in fact it's not realy a question, more asking for an oppinion,
Do you think it's worth the aesthetics? since i know that a water cooler would be just as much but more effecient, but the V8 GTS is just such a beauty!

4) Simplest question, Mugen 4 with 2 fans or CM V8 GTS? wich one should i pick?

Extra info:
Mobo: Asus m5a97 R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-8350

Thanks for your time and any help you could provide!

It will fit in the case, actually a fairly short cooler compared to others. Might want to look at some builds on partpicker to make sure your RAM won't get in the way.

Cooling wise it is fairly decent in the charts.

Scythe Mugen is a bit simpler, and there are many coolers in its class. Probably just as effective as the V8, you really are paying for the looks on that one.

Wow, if that is a fairly short cooler i don't want to know how the big ones look like :wahoo:
But thanks for confirming it will fit, that was one of my major worries.

I also checked on some more charts in the meantime and i found one that shows both Mugen 4 and the V8 GTS and the V8 is slightly better.
I mean, it better be for almost double the price.

But since i have a windowed case and the Cooler will be bam-smack in the middle of it i think i will go with the V8 GTS and pay the extra 30 bucks for the looks
(damn, my PC is turning out just like my gf, who would've thought...)

Just be careful here man... I picked up a CM V8 GTS and the bastard blocks my PCIE_1 slot on my Gigabyte GA-X99 Gaming G1 WIFI Mobo. Couldn't they just make the dang thing to industry standards? I had no way of knowing it would be 2mm too large until newegg shipped it and I was stuck...so disappointing.
