I ran Amust registry cleaner yesterday, A program that I had been using for years and for some reason it caused a lot of problems, and I will never use it again lol.
I'm trying to install Windows updates, but every time I try I get the error " Windows update could not search for new updates - Code 80070424 " I did a lot of reading and tried fixing the problem by myself with solutions posted online but none of them have worked.
I downloaded a fresh registry for Windows 7 home premium 64bit from Blackviper.com and ran that which fixed quite a few problems but not this one, I went into services.msc - Windows update is set to automatic (delayed) and is started, Background intelligent service is set to automatic and is started and work station is set to automatic and is also started. I also did sfc /scannow and it finds no errors in system files, I tried Microsoft Fix it (50686) and it says that the fix has been processed but nothing changes.
I really can't figure this out and I hope someone can help so that I don't need to do a reinstallation.
