I'm waiting on my first R9-280(Non X) to arrive(within the next two days) and I'm curious as to how much more headroom I'll have switching it in my GTX295's place?

My current psu

It's about 2 1/2, close to three years old now so I'm not sure if that's time enough to make it's max output dip. I plan to get my second R9-280 in the next few months or so for crossfire, and will most likely update my psu unless I can squeak by somehow

It should be able to handle 2 - 280's.

Yeah, I tried to get my exact build(post upgrades) queued in pcpartpicker and it claims I'll be at 593W with my 280's in xfire. Is their wattage estimation reliable for future reference?
