Hi - in the house, we currently have two separate desktop PCs and towers. One was connected to the internet without any issues and we are currently trying to get the second PC to connect. The wireless router is in the office with the first PC and all other devices in the house (phones, laptops, tablets) are able to connect to it fine. However the second PC is not only not recognising or finding any local networks, it's saying we need to plug in an Ethernet cable. The other PC is hooked up to the Internet with an Ethernet and this PC is in a different room. I'm not sure why it's not searching for Wifi so could somebody please help shed some light! I'm not sure what other information is useful so please ask what you need to know! Thanks!

If you did not buy a wifi adapter for your 2nd desktop, you need an ethernet cable for internet.

Does your second PC have a working WiFi adapter installed? Towers usually don't.

This wifi adapter should be ok:

If you need 802 ac, then this one is good:

Thanks! How do I know if I ned 802 ac? What is this? Can I buy these off the shelf? (Sorry for not knowing anything!)

If your wifi router support 802 ac, you can utilise but most people will be fine with 802 N. You can buy it in a store. Most large retailers have a section for wireless networking but prices may vary.
