Hi, I've been having a problem with my Corsair m40 ever since I got it where very occasionally it would automatically suddenly switch the DPI or sensitivity to something extremely low for a few seconds then switch back to my normal value, this seems to happen randomly, but also it happens more if my PC is being slow, or I just opened a program it often happens.

I contacted Corsair, told them about the problem, they got me to update my BIOS USB drivers, didn't help, got a replacement (They replaced it with the newer M45), and the problem is still here.

Anybody have any ideas? I figure it could be interference with the USB port being used by other USB devices, however the only USB devices I ever really have plugged in are one Sharkoon Skiller keyboard, and a plantronics 780 gamecom headset, so I'm not sure how they would be causing issues.

Thanks!

Try a different USB port and reinstall drivers.

I've done both of those, no dice.

Is this happening randomly, or in any specific games?

The only games I've been playing much recently are Civ 5 and CS GO, it's happened a couple times in CS GO but never in Civ 5, it seems to happen usually when I'm just at my desktop, sometimes when I open a program it happens, though rarely.

How frequently does it happen?

Fairly rarely, maybe once every few hours, but it's very noticeable and incredibly annoying, especially when you're in a game and can't move your mouse more than an inch for 5-10 seconds.
