hi fellas!! :D i need help, i want an amd gaming rig for me, an intel is to costly for me and im not using it in any calculation work purposes anyways so this is just for somewhat purely a games and movies setup. i want to crossfire in the future and do a 2 monitor if i do that. so, will this setup be a sustainable gaming rig for atleast 5 years? and are they all compatible to be a build? if Not, please recommend the latest for it, money is not much of a problem, but it is considered. thanks all! :D

GPU: MSI R9 290 Twin Frozer Gaming 4G Gddr5 (i want to crossfire in the next year or so, so this is for atleast a 5 year gaming rig)
APU: AM3+ AMD Vishera FX-8350 Black Edition
APU COOLER: Cooler Master Seidon 240M Hybrid
MOBO: MSI A88XM Gaming (is this even compatible with the processor im using? if not, please refer something that is, thanks)
PSU: Cooler Master V1000 Vanguard 1000W 80+ Gold (crossfire purposes, or please comment if im wrong, im not really sure what im doing thats why im asking here :( )
SSD: SSD Samsung 840 Evo Series 250gb
HDD: 2tb WDC Caviar Green (ill be adding more in the future, i have tons of games and movies)
RAM: Gskill Ripjaws Z 16GB 4gbx4 DDR3 1600 ( for photoshop purposes, its my hobby :D )
UPS: APC Back-UPS BX800CI-MS , 800VA / 480 Watts (our city has LOTS of power outage so i want it to be safe for my gear :( )
MONITOR: ASUS 23 inch VX239H (i do want to add another in the future when i have a crossfire)

Your UPS is a little small, and may not work at all. Many PFC supplies won't work with the cheaper UPS as they don't provide a close enough approximation of an AC sine wave.

You would need the larger cousin of the SMT1000 to run a crossfire setup without popping something.

MSI doesn't have quality boards on the am3+ platform. Well, they have the 990fx ones but those are overpriced compared to their ASUS/Giga/ASRock counterparts...

wuw, 1000W PSU is a bit over for crossfire. You can settle to 850W if there is cheaper and in good quality.

Mobo: I own MSI mobo (A88x G45 gaming) but I recommend the Gigabyte Mobo`s (I also have one) it`s a personal preference and I like the Interface of the Gigabyte than MSI.

CPU: you can get i5 for better performance. (I own AMD kaveri but I will suggest the i5 for gaming.)

GPU: Good, buy GTX780 if you can afford.
UPS: optional, it depends on you. I don`t recommend.

RAM: you don`t need 16G of RAM, just take 8G and spend the rest of your money to GPU. (16G were used for 3D rendering i.e. CAD 3D rendering).

I think you will build a MSI dragon rig? Am I right? with black and red features? (I have done that) but you can get better components and you can get the red and black (aggressive look) with different parts (i.e. Asus components).

I only said MSI has bad boards on the am3+ platform not in general. Your a88x g45 is an fm2+ board and msi has some great boards on the fm2/fm2+

i found 2 850w psu (A) Seasonic 850watts 80Plus Gold Modular or (B) Cooler Master Vanguard 850watts 80+ Gold, Full Modular. the price difference is just 500 php (philippines), i dont care about the price prankly, which can hold longer?

the mobo, i think im going with am3+ MSI 970 GAMING...

gtx 780 is an overkill in the graphics, i dont play for the "graphics", i dont count that shit frames when i game, i just wanted the r9 290 because this is the first amd rig ill build and its in the almost top notch of amd graphics there is. its more of just 'for the learning experience' i say.

i want the UPS because theres always a power outage in our city. and it wrecks my pc when it does that. its my personal thing.

i need the ram, i do photoshop and allplan (cad) stuff sometimes. its a hobby thing. lol

So your in the Philippines huh. KABAYAN!

You seriously will be needing a UPS. So, choose the PSU which you can afford. For the GPU, R9 eats too much power but if you're not paying your electricity bill or if you're parents are politicians then it is OK.

And you mentioned about the X99 mobo, man you're rich. I can buy it here would you like me to send to you? lol
