Hi,
I'm building a PC (first time ever) and I'm hesitating between the Radeon R9 270 and the GeForce GTX 670. I know the GTX is better than the R9, and the price difference isn't too big, but I'm already over budget and I want to know if it is really worth it or if it won't make much difference.

Thanks!

It will depend on the make/model of your PSU as to whether or not you can run the 170W GTX 670. The R9-270 is about 20W lower TDP.

I have a 600W supply, I think that should cover it

The R9 270 is weaker than the R9 270X, which is weaker than the GTX 760, which is very slightly weaker than the GTX 670. It's quite a downgrade by the time you cross every tier.

How much would you pay for each of them? I'm really surprised you couldn't find an R9 270X or R9 280 in the middle.

Not all "600W" PSUs are created equal. Do you know the +12V amperage and wattage rating(s)? If not, please state the make/model.

I couldn't find anything in between because I'm currently living in Latin America, where the options are limited. The difference between the two is actually pretty small (about 15 bucks), and from what you're telling me it seems it's worth it.

Yeah, for only a $15 difference the GTX 670 is a much better choice. Either the R9 270 is overpriced, or the GTX 670 is underpriced, because normally the GTX 670 should be double the price of the R9 270.
