Solution plywrlw Sep 20, 2014 The 500B will be more stressed than the 600B so will likely be noisier and probably have a shortened lifespan. But... Adding RAM is a very small power increase so will make no real difference. The biggest power draw is your gpu. In this review http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2014/05/19/amd-radeon-r9-280-review-feat-xfx/9 the system used 305 watts under load with that gpu but your cpu is more power hungry so I'd say 350w to be conservative. In other words the 500B will be OK but don't go crazy with overclocks!

Rybo Honorable Nov 4, 2013 421 0 10,860 Sep 10, 2014 #2 nope, nope. It has 408watt output on the 12v rails. I would strongly reccomend you purchase anew psu, before ever putting that in your pc. Upvote 1 Downvote

A great choice would be the EVGA Supernova B2 750W http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr There's a tiered list stickied to the top of the components thread which is fairly up to date if you want to look at alternatives Upvote 0 Downvote

If you plan to overclock that fx6300 absolutely get the 600B or a better choice would be the XFX 550w as the build quality is much higher Upvote 0 Downvote
