Shutting down vs sleep mode

Should i shut my pc down when i go to bed or put it into sleep mode?
What's the best for lifetime?
PS: i don't need a whole explenation, only a correct and short answer (and warnings ofcourse)µ

either is fine

turned off it will use a tiny fraction of power
in sleep mode it will restart faster and use a couple of watts of juice . About the same as the light that tells you your tv is off

In sleep mode basically everything is shut off except the RAM, which is used to begin where you left the computer.

I use sleep to ram(s3) with no hibernate.
It takes only 3-4 seconds to sleep or wake.
You will use a tiny bit of electricity to keep the ram active.
One theory says that electronics wears out by the power on/off cycling and thermal change.
