I've searched and searched, and I've read a lot of responses to this that are SIMILAR to what I'm asking, but I haven't yet found a satisfactory to my specific question. Hopefully I can find it here!

I've just (finally) ordered my first SSD. I currently use two HDDs in RAID 0 as my main system disk. What I want to do is this: I want to use my SSD as my main system disk. I want to install it using AHCI so that the TRIM function will work. I also want to keep my two HDDs in RAID 0 as my second system disk. I have seen all sorts of comments about how to do similar things, for instance, hook up JUST the SSD, install the OS in AHCI mode, reboot, then attach the two HDDs and change mode to RAID, yadda yadda. But if I do it that way, will TRIM remain enabled for the SSD?

I'm hoping someone can help! Thanks!

Solution
for amd trim wont work in raid mode.
For intel, it will.

I would just install in raid mode (ssd as a single disk) and avoid the fuss later on.
