Hello, I am going to be purchasing the AMD R9 280x soon but all the GPUs are the same price so I can't decide what brand to get. I have heard good things about MSI and it has a higher amazon rating than the rest and is normally more expensive so I am leaning towards that. What do you think?

Sapphire is the name to beat with AMD cards. Their tri-x and toxic lineups are some of the best out there.
MSI takes a close second. ASUS is usually a good option, but they have some vrm cooling issues.

evga for nvidia, sapphire for amd.... then msi, then gigabyte, then asus. though there are specific models that sometimes others have a slight edge. for the 280x i would look at the sapphire tri-x or msi gaming(twin frozr). sapphire does have a toxic version, or poseidon rog(not sure if this one is out) and msi has the lightning, but those are high level cards meant for overclockers and will definitely cost more than the regular versions that you see that all cost the same.

One of the most exasperating RMA experiences I ever had was with EVGA (to the point of getting a VP of Marketing on the line to get it straightened out). Often good and bad experiences can be a complete crap shoot regardless of company. I tend to buy whichever has the best design (performance, cooling, quietness) vs. price and hope for the best. That said, I've been gravitating towards MSI the past few years. Had three and they've all been good and very well built.
