I have this old video card of mine, it's an e-GeForce 8800 GTS. When I install it in my PC I get these green or red vertical lines as seen here, not only during start-up but when Windows is running as well. Some of the text during start-up is garbled as well. I ran GPU-Z and it couldn't even identify my video card. At this point I didn't even install the driver because I figured the card was probably bad. Is there anything I can do or should I just trash the card?

Thanks

The card is almost certainly suffering from hardware-based damage. It's essentially dead.

If you want to take a longshot, you can try baking the card in your oven to see if that repairs it, but it's also possible it will damage it further. Then again, in its present state, it's not going to render anything in 3D.

Hope that helps.
