OK I had started another thread but figured out the problem. I just bought a new WD black hard drive and while trying to install windows I discovered my CD/DVD drive is going bad keeps losing power and I've tried new cables so I need a new drive. What would be my best option to fix this problem can I replace the internal drive without having a working OS or am I better off with a plug and play external can you boot from an external CD drive?
I'm a little over my head I knew I could stick in a new HDD and install Windows but now I'm getting out of my depth any advice would be appreciated
