Hey guys. I read that the Haswells-E can support 4 channels of DDR4 memory. Does it mean that I have to buy 4 DDR4 RAM in order to get haswell-e run at full capacity. in other words, is there any performance difference between 4x4gb ram and 2x8gb ram setup? Thank you.

No difference really. Well maybe technically, but you will never notice.

Yes as far as DRAM performance, you'll be running in dual channel mode opposed to Quad

It is not necessary to populate all four channels, but it is recommended.
