I recently ordered two USB pci cards to give my computer more USB ports. When I first booted up the computer after installing them, I heard a large popping noise, and immediately unplugged the computer, but a smokey smell followed. Upon inspection, everything seemed to be alright. I plugged it back in, and everything booted up fine, I installed the drivers for the PCI cards (the CD wasn't working so I downloaded from the site.) I rebooted afterwards, and ever since none of the USB ports have been working. I have through multiple tests been able to get only the keyboard to work on one of the on board USB slots, but other than that I have had no luck.

Something got busted up real bad. That popping noise and smell indicates at least one component somewhere in your PC blew up.
