Really want to improve my gaming expirence, noticed games run a little too slow... I think my graphics card is pretty good, not sure if that's the issue... how would I improve my general system performance? I've been saving for a while and can afford around $400.00...

side note: is there some settings I should turn on or off to improve performance?

Clean out your case - blow it out with compressed air to clean out all the filters, fans and coolers. Keep your PC and especially your CPU running as cool as possible.

Use optimum game settings. Google them eg Game Debate.

Post your complete and detailed build for further analysis.
