My DSL cable terminates in my basement where it connects into my modem/wireless router. A cat 5 cable the runs it upstairs to my computer. The problem is the signal from the wireless router is too weak for my phone/tablet. Is it possible to get an adapter on my DSL RJ45 to run over the cat 5 towards the computer and place another adapter when comes out of the wall converting it back to the RJ45 so I can plug into the modem/route? I would then connect the computer directly into one of the router ports and the hopefully My wireless signal would be stronger. Comments?

You could get a wireless extender/rangebooster.

Get a router like one here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemplatemapper.jsp;jsessionid=9E74FFD8B044F8251FE4B36D308D036B.bbolsp-app04-163?_dyncharset=UTF-8&_dynSessConf=-7037261366496382619&id=pcat17071&type=page&ks=960&st=categoryid%24pcmcat211400050001&sc=Global&cp=1&sp=&qp=soldby_facet%3DSold+By~Best+Buy&list=y&usc=All+Categories&nrp=15&iht=n&seeAll=&browsedCategory=pcmcat211400050001

Unplug the cat 5 cable from the computer, plug it into the router. Place another cat 5 cable from the router to the PC and you will have a wireless router by your computer to get the wi-fi signal to the phone/tablet.

Sometimes the easiest answers are the best answers. I'll check into an extender/ booster. Thanks!
