Hidden files still show up on search bar...? If this is the case then whats the point on hiding the file. is there anyway to fix this. Windows 8.1

If you want to hide files you don't want others to see, if you have different logins to Windows, you can set security on the files to be only accessible by one user account (all of the other user accounts have to be non-admin). This is a limitation of Windows (non-server based file systems).

The other option is 3rd party plugins like Gazabi mentioned - there are quite a few out there - some free - others can be costly.

I dont know any way to fix this in windows. but I use a program called MyLockBox to hide my files. Theres a free version that I uses, but you can only hide one folder.
