which processor is better for the software's like photoshop, eclips, Microsoft visual studio, etc between Intel i5 and AMD Quad core A8?

See games are not that much important for me.

Here's a great video of the AMD 8350FX@4.8ghz losing to a STOCK 2500k @3.3ghz(bear in mind the 2500k is using a 660GTX and the AMD A8 is using a 7970!!) This video should answer all your questions-

Their is no comparison between the 4690k and 8300 FX cpus, AMD is literally decades behind Intel-

Have a look at FX-8350. It's an amazing processor and it's very cheap. All you'll have to do is get a decent cheap cooler (Like Evo 212 or Hyper 212X). That's it. I bought FX-8350 and there's no game or program which doesn't work fast on my system. I get 100-130 FPS on BattleField 3 and all modern games are also running fine. FYI I have HD 7850 2GB.

Moreover the 8350 series can be over clocked up to 5GHz. 5 is just too much and not required too, but I've seen people overclocking it to at least 4.5Ghz easily. So go for this beast!

Intel processors are good for single threaded applications. FX series processors are good for multithreading, like if you want to do video processing or compilation etc then it'll work better than i5.

I hate to reanimate this dead thread, but decades? seriously? Let's put an FX8350 up against a Pentium II. Amd may be a generation or two behind, but decades? No.

Also, BF3 is known to be a very intel/nvidia optimised game, Do the same with BF4 and AMD will probably come out on top. And please don't use cinebench as an example if you're not going to show results for the FX cpu as well.

EDIT: You lied also, the 2500k used in the video is also overclocked, not stock.

For those apps, (don't you dare judge) I'd use a mac. Apple has always been better, graphically anyways, than IBM. IBM's claim to fame is in sheer processing power, basically what's needed for games and office software, but for photoshop etc, the macs win every time.

Other than that, I'd go with an i7 or Xeon over an i5 or FX, you get all the multi-thread performance of the 8 core fx's plus the single-thread performance of the i5's all in 1 cpu. It costs more, but it'll do more in a broader range of applications depending on where their strengths and resources are.

Edit: ouch, just saw the dates. F. Me lol. Teach me to surf on a phone.
