Hi everyone! I'm planning on building a PC for Christmas, and I plan to use Nvidia. I've created a recent thread asking if I should go with a 5960x or a 4790k. Long story short I'm going to use the money to buy dual GPUS instead of a 5960x and go with a 4790k. I would like to know how much of a performance increase I will get with dual GTX 780 TI'S at 1080p. I know the 900 series is coming out on the 18th most likely but for now I just want to know about 780 ti's but I will definetly get the 900 series instead. Also I would like to know if I should get a Titan Black instead of two 780 Ti's for 1080p Thanks to all who help!

For 1080p gaming two 780ti's would be better than the titan for sure, or the 980 as you mentioned. At 1080p it will have no problem. Honestly there's no point to sli'ing 780ti's at 1080p. Are you using a 144hz monitor? No I will be using a 60 hz monitor, but will definetly get 120 hz in the future.

At 120hz the SLI will benefit in intense games like crysis and battlefield but for 60hz even one 780ti will max out everything.

How much of an FPS increase are we talking here?

No point in SLIing on FHD, that too 60Hz, single powerful GPU is cooler, quieter, more efficient, less driver issues (Nvidia doesn't have much though) and best bang for the buck, compared to SLI. You can even go with 5930k w/ custom loop and OC it to 4.2-4.4Ghz. Be sure to get 900 series top card and not 780 Ti. SLI it when you get 144Hz or 2k or 4k or tri display.

But if your going to get two 780ti's I would spring for 1440p

You can 'get' 90 FPS in the game, but it won't 'show' 90 FPS as the monitor won't refresh more than 60 times a sec, no matter if you get 60 FPS or 120.

I can see the difference between 60 and 120 on this monitor, I disable vsync lol

Disabling Vsnyc might get you better results on perspective, but your monitor technically just can't go beyond 60 refreshes in 1 sec, ie, 60 FPS, physically. so should i get a 120 hz for this powerful of a setup? Should I go with 2 780 tis or a single for a 120 hz
How about tri FHD? That'd be an immersive experience and would challenge the SLI setup real good

Well the thing is I DONT want to challenge the SLI set up haha. I am not going above 1080p because I wanna hit insane FPS on maxed graphics 4x aa. If anything I want these grapihcs cards or card to chew through stuff like nothing.

100+ FPS, every damn setting maxed out, TOTALLY insane, but can you compare it to 90+ FPS on 2k? Yes, that'd be a better and awesome resolution IMO. 90 FPS on 2k vs 100+ FPS on FHD everything very high, I'd go with 2k
would a 4790k be enough to support all that
More than enough.
