I'm getting: GPU: AMD R9 280X
CPU: Intel i5 4690K
I checked the ASRock Z97 Extreme4, but since I don't plan on overclocking or using multiple GPUs I think it's a too much.

Well, Its better to Have ASRock Z97 Pro3 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 because ASRock delivers solid performance. It's a heavy duty board and priced at $99 at newegg. You should definitely go for it.

Yes, If you are getting ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer cheaper than the PRO3, its a very good deal. ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer is also av very good gaming board. You should have no problems running your GC and i5 with it.
