Alright, so I've been working on this project with my high-spec deskop the past couple weeks. File size is 6.02 MB. I come home one day and plug in my flash drive to work on the project. Start up Max 2014. Suddenly the file is taking forever to load on startup. Probably 5 minutes. When I save the file it takes around 5 minutes to save.

Then I find out it isn't just that file, but 90% of my max files on my desktop PC. Tried it on another computer (laptop) and that PC runs them just fine.

Checked for viruses, tried the trackview nodes script, tried restarting several times and nothing seems to be working as of today. Everything else on this PC is just fine. Run games, browse web, etc...

Haven't tried reinstalling max, but hopefully I wont have to. Is it some weird memory leak or something? Any help greatly appreciated.

It sounds like 3dmax is corrupt, can you try opening something else you have made?

I tried a couple other files. The only ones that weren't slow to load and save was a scene with a single cube and a scene with an untextured MP5 of 4000 polys. Could it be something with textures?

Are you opening the files from the same source? IE all from the drive?

I opened some from a flash drive and some from drive D. I'm testing all this again just to be sure. Will let you know if anything changes.

EDIT: Now I'm having trouble even starting Max. Stuck on initializing. Screw it, gonna do a reinstall.

EDIT 2: It seems that the only files I have trouble opening are ones containing a 1911 3D model and a wrench 3D model. These are two projects that I have worked on recently and have had to recover, but the MP5 that opens fine I've also worked on recently. It's still weird that these other files open fine on my laptop. Did a repair, nothing changed.
